PSYCHOMOTRICITY

The term “psychomotor” expresses the interdependence between psychic life (psycho) and motor life (motor).

Based on this concept, psychomotricity views the body as a manifestation of being, integrating motor, emotional, relational, and intellectual dimensions.

The body expresses itself through “being” and “acting”, in relation to itself, to others, and to the environment.

Psychomotricity has two main fields of intervention: therapeutic and preventive.

Psychomotor therapy addresses different areas, including:

  • Psychomotor development: developmental delays, mobility difficulties, tonic disharmony, clumsiness…

  • Learning difficulties: challenges with concentration, handwriting, autonomy, graphomotor skills, social relationships, early learning, and all dys disorders (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia…).

  • Autism spectrum disorders (ASD)

  • Psychiatric conditions: behavioral disorders, personality disorders…

  • Neurological conditions: hyperactivity, OCD, axonal neuropathy, cerebral palsy…

  • Sensory impairments: hypersensitivity, visual impairment, hearing impairment…
